My initial inspiration in 4th year came from geometric shapes in modern architecture which were then simplified down and made into repeat patterns which I then wove. This was for a men’s suit fabric collection so the colours were muted and masculine. In 2009/10, I was awarded scholarship from The Worshipful Company of Weavers based on a written proposal for my collection.
This is just a little collection of my favourite drawings and fabrics I’ve created over my 4th year.
I’m a big fan of collage and I love fitting shapes together to create something visually appealing. I find working in grayscale a powerful medium because I feel this gives a lot of depth to an image.
